Get the best out of your trip to Taiwan on this 3-hour tour that will take you to the highlights of Taipei. You’ll start with a quick drive by the Presidential Building, before stopping at the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, an impressive monument that was built in memory of the former Chinese leader. The majestic hall towers over 25 hectares of landscaped gardens, graceful pavilions, and ponds and the square between the buildings is a popular gathering place for festive occasions. Next, you’ll head to the National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine which is dedicated to the fallen soldiers of China. While you’re there, you might want to catch the hourly changing of the guards at the entrance which is done almost like a performance. You’ll also visit the National Palace Museum which houses a vast collection of Chinese art treasure. Most of the art pieces were part of the Chinese imperial collection that was brought to Taiwan for safe-keeping. The collection is too large to be displayed at one time, so while many popular pieces remain on permanent display, other items are rotated regularly, making each visit unique! You’ll also visit some of the many traditional temples in Taipei. Finally, you’ll stop at the Handicraft Center to do some shopping for a gift or souvenir. There are a number of shops selling jewelry, art, furniture, and many other inexpensive mementos.

The villages of Jiufen were once centers of gold mining in Taiwan. The gold is gone, but these quaint old villages, built of closely-packed houses clinging to steep mountainsides, continue to offer enchanting scenery and fascinating glimpses into the lifestyles of the past. See the Northeast coast National Scenic Area which is located in the northeast corner of Taiwan. The scenic area is noted for its numerous capes and bays backed by green mountains. The northernmost tourist site in the scenic area, Nanya is noted for its fantastic rock formations and sea-eroded coral shore. The entire coastline here is a veritable sculpture garden that illustrates, in stone, the incomparable artistry of weathering and wave action. The patterned stone topography of Nanya, unique in Taiwan, was formed through the weathering of the sandstone that lines the shore. The oxidation of iron ore within the striations of the stone has given it a beautiful striped pattern.

The essence of this sightseeing tour will be the Bali Museum, which was built in 1931 by the architect P.J. Moojen, near the location of the former royal palace of Denpasar, which had been burnt to the ground during the Dutch intervention in Bali (1906) and used it as a model for its outside walls and courtyards. The other destination will be the Bali Art Center, a traditional Balinese building that houses a permanent exhibition of modern paintings and woodcarvings. Denpasar, the capital city of Bali province, is economically based on tourism which serves as an important aspect of Balinese society in general and to Denpasar city in particular. Pick-up service will be provided to begin the excursion. First, you will visit the Museum of Bali with its beautiful treasures, then you’ll stroll around the colorful local market, where the local people sell their products with much haggling over price.
