As you make your way across this enchanting country, you will learn all about Indonesia’s rich heritage and age-old customs on an exciting 8-day trip! We have designed a package just for you, complete with accommodation, transfers and guided visits to tea plantations, volcanic craters, temples and palaces. Starting from Jakarta - the bustling capital, you will cross from West to East Java, stopping at different cities, towns and villages along the way. So get ready for the vacation of a lifetime!

Day 1


Jakarta – Bandung

Welcome to Indonesia! Today you will leave Jakarta to go to the Bogor hill resort town which is known as “the City of Rain” since it rains almost every day (even in the dry season), so make sure you bring an umbrella. Here, you will visit the famous Bogor Botanical Gardens which is one of the oldest in South East Asia! Afterwards, you will continue on to Puncak where you will visit one of the many tea plantations. On your way to Bandung, you will have lunch at a local restaurant and will pass by the summer Presidential Palace at Cipanas.

Day 2



After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you will go on a full-day tour to explore Bandung. You will first visit Tangkuban Perahu, an active volcano nicknamed “overturned boat,” where you can drive right up to the rim to see the breathtaking views of its smoldering crater. Afterwards you will go to Ciater, a hot spring of sulfured water that is good for healing rheumatism and several skin problems.

  • Please note: In the afternoon, there will be an optional tour to the Angklung Music School Udjo to watch the Angklung Orchestra performance by school children of different ages.
Day 3

Bandung – Yogyakarta

Today you will ride the morning train to the city of Yogyakarta (often called Jogja), located on the island of Java and known for being the center of traditional arts and culture. As you cross the island, you will explore its landscape from the comfort of your seat, so feast your eyes on the views while you have a delicious lunch on board. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and will have the rest of the night at leisure.

Day 4


This morning you will visit 3 of the most important Buddhist temples in the world which are located on one straight line in the Magelang Regency. You will start with a visit to the magnificent 9th C Borobudur Temple (or Barabudur), a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is the largest Buddhist temple in the world. After a mouth-watering lunch at a local restaurant, you will visit the impressive Mendut Temple, the oldest of the 3 temples where Buddhist rituals still take place. Before ending your tour, you will visit the Buddhist Pawon Temple with architectural elements from old Javanese, Hindu and Indian art.

Day 5



On this day you will explore the rich history of Yogyakarta starting with a visit to Kraton Yogyakarta, the “Sultan Palace” which has a museum displaying artifacts of the sultanate. You will then learn about the traditional batik industry, which is an impressive method of dyeing cloth using wax. Next you will head to Kota Gede, a historic neighborhood known internationally for its impressive silver crafts. Before ending your excursion, you will go shopping at Jalan Malioboro, the largest tourist district in Yogyakarta and a major shopping street whose sidewalks are full of stalls selling a variety of goods.

Day 6

Yogyakarta – Malang

You will start your day with a visit to the city of Solo, formerly known as Surakarta, where you will visit the 18th C Mangkunegaran Palace. Afterwards, you will continue across East Java to reach the city of Malang, sometimes called the “Paris of East Java” due to its colonial-era boulevards left behind by the Dutch. Nowadays it is a center of tourism with beautiful beaches, temples and museums for you to explore.

Day 7


Malang – Mount Bromo

Today you will discover the city of Malang with its antiquities from the Singosari dynasty dating back to the 14th C. Then, you will visit the Hindu-Buddhist Singosari Temple and the Hindu Jago Temple which was built in the 13th C. During your tour, you will visit the old colonial area and will pass by Ijen Boulevard, where you can see beautiful old-fashioned Dutch houses decorated with flowers and palm trees.

Overnight on Mount Bromo (Breakfast, Lunch).

Please Note: there will be a midnight optional tour to watch the sunrise on Mount Bromo. You may go on an early drive to Cemorolawang, before going horseback-riding up Mount Bromo to watch the sunrise over Java.

Day 8

Mount Bromo - Surabaya

After breakfast, you will have the morning at leisure until your airport transfer to the Surabaya Juanda International Airport for your flight out.
