On your last day, you will go horseback-riding up Mount Bromo to watch the sunrise over Java - the perfect way to end your journey.
Jakarta – Bandung
Welcome to Indonesia! Today you will leave Jakarta to go to the Bogor hill resort town which is known as “the City of Rain” since it rains almost every day (even in the dry season), so make sure you bring an umbrella. Here, you will visit the famous Bogor Botanical Gardens which is one of the oldest in South East Asia! Afterwards, you will continue on to Puncak where you will visit one of the many tea plantations. On your way to Bandung, you will have lunch at a local restaurant and will pass by the summer Presidential Palace at Cipanas.

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you will go on a full-day tour to explore Bandung. You will first visit Tangkuban Perahu, an active volcano nicknamed “overturned boat,” where you can drive right up to the rim to see the breathtaking views of its smoldering crater. Afterwards you will go to Ciater, a hot spring of sulfured water that is good for healing rheumatism and several skin problems. You will end the tour with a visit to the Angklung Music School Udjo to watch the Angklung Orchestra performance by school children of different ages.

Bandung – Wonosobo
Today you will ride the morning train to Kroya and as you cross the island of Java you will explore its landscape from the comfort of your seat. Feast your eyes on the views of the mountainous volcanic landscape of West and Central Java while you have lunch on board. Upon arrival, you will drive to Wonosobo, a quiet and peaceful city whose name translates into “the gathering place in the forest.”

Wonosobo – Yogyakarta
In the morning you will go on a half-day tour to explore the Dieng Plateau, a marshy plateau with breathtaking scenery. Next, you will visit the Pandawa Lima Temples and Kawah Sikidang, a volcanic crater that has no guard rails so be careful not to slip off the sometimes-muddy trails. After a tasty lunch, you will go to Yogyakarta, with an en-route visit to the magnificent Borobudur Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of Indonesia’s most significant Buddhist monuments, surrounded by green rice fields and soaring volcanic peaks.

On this day you will explore the rich history of Yogyakarta starting with a visit to Kraton Yogyakarta, the “Sultan Palace” which has a museum displaying artifacts of the sultanate. You will then learn about the traditional batik industry, which is an impressive traditional method of dyeing cloth using wax. Next you will head to Kota Gede, a historic neighborhood known internationally for its impressive silver crafts. Before ending your excursion, you will visit the Prambanan Temple which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Java’s most elegant Hindu temple.

Yogyakarta – Malang
You will start your day with a visit to the city of Solo, formerly known as Surakarta, where you will visit the 18th C Mangkunegaran Palace. Afterwards, you will continue across East Java to reach the city of Malang, sometimes called the “Paris of East Java” due to the colonial-era boulevards left behind by the Dutch. Nowadays it is a center of tourism with beautiful beaches, temples and museums for you to explore.

Malang – Mount Bromo
Today you will discover the city of Malang with its antiquities from the Singosari dynasty dating back to the 14th C. Then, you will visit the Hindu-Buddhist Singosari Temple and the Hindu Jago Temple which was built in the 13th C. During your tour, you will visit the old colonial area and will pass by Ijen Boulevard, where you can see beautiful old-fashioned Dutch houses decorated with flowers and palm trees. Finally, you will drive to the village of Tosari, situated at the entrance of Mount Bromo.

Mount Bromo - Surabaya
On your last day, you will be up before the sun rise for an incredible, unforgettable and unique experience. You will go on an early drive in Jeep SUVs, before going horseback-riding up Mount Bromo to watch the sunrise over Java. This breathtaking experience will be worth the hassle of waking up before dawn so make sure you get a good night’s sleep beforehand. The rest of the day will be at leisure and in the afternoon, you will drive back to Surabaya for your transfer to the airport.
