The Maasai people are generally pastoralists with a rich culture, and to date, they are proud of their lifestyle and beliefs. Many parts of the country have names that have originated from the Maasai people, which is evidence of their movement and influence across the nation’s lands. Maasai Mara itself is derived from the Maa language, meaning “Spotted”. Though the savannah grassland stretches as far as the eye can see, you will notice solitary trees that have created a spotted design on the grassland, hence its name. An abundance of wildlife is spotted in large numbers across this mighty savannah, and as a result it has become a haven for any passionate photographer.
