Brief

Enjoy nine days of fun and exploration in Greece and Italy. This unforgettable trip will take you to the most important places in both of those amazing destinations. Enjoy boat rides in Venice, and walking around the outdoor museum that is Florence. You'll take a cruise across Italy, and enjoy picturesque views of small towns. Not to mention that you'll discover the rich history of Greece in Athens and Olympia and delve deeper into their culture when you visit the Panathinaikos Stadium and the magnificent Ancient Theatre!

Day 1

Athens

Welcome to beautiful Greece! Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, you'll be transferred to your hotel. After getting settled in your hotel, you'll be transferred to the Plaka neighborhood in the evening, a small town full of Greek taverns where you can enjoy the rich folklore of this country.

Overnight in Athens.

Day 2

Athens

Today, you go on a city tour in Athens, and enjoy a scenic visit of this modern city, which includes the Panathinaikos Stadium and the Royal Palace. Then, you'll have some free time to walk around and discover these unforgettable places at your own pace. At the end of the day, return to your hotel.

Note: Occasionally, the tour of Athens may take place on Wednesday right after arrival depending on weather conditions and timings.

Day 3

Athens - Olympia

On this day, visit the highly picturesque seaport town of Nafplio in the Peloponnese region. You will depart for the Peloponnese region in the morning, and make a stop at the Corinth Canal. Afterwards, you will arrive in Epidaurus, enjoying the view of gorgeous landscapes. Visit the magnificent Ancient Theatre which is surrounded by a unique landscape. Later, journey to Nafplio, a town by the Aegean Sea, and explore its historic centre, its lovely marina and its medieval castle. Enjoy your lunch break and get some free time to stroll around. You will resume your journey to Olympia in the afternoon, where you'll stay the night.

Day 4

Olympia - Igoumenitsa

After a hearty breakfast, go to the Olympia archeological site with a local guide to discover its museum and park (ticket not included) which was the cradle of the Olympic games in ancient times. Get back on route to  Patras, Greece’s third largest city, and explore its active and lively center. Afterwards, travel to Northern Greece, Amfilochia. Make a short stop in a quiet coastal town known as Arta, in the Epirus region. Then, arrive in Igoumenitsa and enjoy a delicious meal before boarding your cruise to cross the Ionian Sea. Spend the night on board.

Note: The ferry leaves at 01:00, but boarding is not usually possible until after midnight.

Day 5

Brindisi - Rome

The cruise takes you to Brindisi, arriving early in the morning. Follow the Adriatic coastline in Southern Italy, and visit Trani, a picturesque little town by the sea, and its fishing port, its old cathedral and its lively streets. Enjoy a tasty lunch before resuming your trip towards Naples. There, you'll go on a short sightseeing tour in its historic centre before heading to the gorgeous city of Rome.

Day 6

Rome

In the morning, go on a scenic tour of the city, which will be a great introduction to “The Eternal city”. Then, visit the small, beautiful state of the Vatican. Vatican City is a principal centre of Christianity in the world. You will be able to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. Head back to Rome and pay a visit to the Roman Coliseum, the principal symbol of Rome. This impressive construction dates back 2,000 years and will transport you in time so that you can learn about ancient society in the Roman Empire. In the evening, you'll be transferred to the Via Cavour area, where you will find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international food. You then head to your hotel in Rome at the end of the day.

Day 7

Rome - Florence

You will leave Rome, heading north towards Florence. This route is graced with beautiful landscapes, which you will surely enjoy. Upon arrival in Florence, head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo, an impressive site in the city. In the evening, go on a tour with a local expert, and walk through the historic centre, taking in places such as the Ponte Vecchio, the Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. This city is truly an outdoor museum. You'll also have free time to explore the city at your own pace. In the evening, you can dine at your favourite restaurant. In this district, you can find restaurants serving Italian, Indian, Chinese and international food.

Day 8

Florence - Venice

Upon arriving in Venice, you will board a Vaporetto boat to travel around on the canals in the historic centre. With a local guide, you will visit the marvellous Plaza de San Marcos and enter the breathtaking Basilica. Afterwards, visit the Murano glass factory city to see the technique of crystal blowing. You then have some free time, and at the end of the afternoon, you will have the chance to eat dinner in the Mestre area, where you can choose the type of restaurant and cuisine that you prefer.

Day 9

Venice

After one last breakfast and check-out formalities, it'll be time to say goodbye to Italy. You'll then head to the airport to catch your outbound flight. We hope you enjoyed your trip!
