Excite your senses on this 2 week tour which focuses on natural, cultural, tangible and intangible heritage of Vietnam. Another essential element is Vietnamese cuisine, giving you a taste of delicious food from north to south – an experience that will last a lifetime. 

Day 1

Hà Nội

When you arrive at Nội Bài International Airport in Hà Nội, one of our representatives will meet you for your transfer to your hotel in the downtown. The remainder of the day will be at leisure in Hà Nội.

Day 2

Hà Nội

After a delicious breakfast, you will head to Trúc Bạch Lake to start your culinary adventure by tasting Phở Cuốn, followed by a stop at the Chau Long Market for a tour of the ‘wet’ market with its unusual fruits, livestock and more. Here you will get a chance to sample the market foods of your choice from tree green mango with chili to silkworms! After a short taxi ride to a shrimp restaurant, you will sample West Lake’s most famous dish, then another taxi transfer will take you to one of the best Bún chả stalls in Hà Nội where you will enjoy Bún chả - grilled pork patties and pork belly with sticky rice noodles. On your way back, you will stop at a 1930’s traditional Hà Nội café to taste some specialties such as black sticky rice or green rice with yoghurt.

In the afternoon, you will visit the 11th C Thăng Long Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, you will visit the Museum of Ethnology or the Temple of Literature. You will also go on an hour-long cyclo ride through the narrow, chaotic streets of the Old Quarter, followed by a traditional performance of the famous Vietnamese water puppets.

Day 3

Hà Nội

Today you will go for a drive through the countryside to Bát Tràng, a village renowned for its fine ceramics. Taking a stroll through the village, you will see the artisans in the process of molding and carving clay pots, dishes and vases, before they are glazed and fired in a kiln, ready for sale. You will check out the Bát Tràng ceramics market and workshops before visiting the Bút Tháp Pagoda, the cradle of Vietnamese Buddhism. Next you will stop at the village of Đông Hồ, famous for its ancient painting technique of wood block printing. The last stop of your day will be at a small rural village where you will enjoy a traditional Quan họ music (listed as a UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage art) performance by villagers in front of the commune house.

Day 4

Hà Nội

A 2-hour road trip through the picturesque countryside and agricultural land will take you to the ancient city of Hoa Lư, the former capital of Vietnam. Enjoy the sight of palaces, pagodas, tombs and pavilions built by different dynasties and visit the Đinh and Temples, before you head to the pier in the afternoon for a 3-hour sampan ride to explore the picturesque waterways in Tràng An. The area features more than 30 valleys and 50 cross-water caves, and is home to 600 species of plants and over 200 types of animals. You will venture through a network of 11 caves in the quiet, fresh air, with only the sound of birds and the oars stirring the clear water and surrounded by magnificent forested mountains.

Day 5

Hà Nội - Hạ Long Bay

On this day, you will leave for Hạ Long Bay with a refreshment break en route. Meet the crew upon boarding the traditional wooden junk, then relax and enjoy lunch while the boat heads towards the secluded islands. You will visit ancient limestone caves and go sea kayaking and swimming if the weather permits. Return to the junk refreshed and invigorated and relax on deck with a drink to watch the sunset before you have a freshly prepared seafood dinner under the stars.

Day 6

Hạ Long Bay - Huế

Enjoy an early morning swim (if weather permits) followed by a tasty breakfast, before visiting one of the famous caves in the middle of the bay. You will cruise back to the main harbor for you transfer to Nội Bài Airport for a late afternoon flight to Huế. Once you arrive, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your downtown hotel.

Day 7


Today you will spend the full day exploring Huế, starting with the ancient walled Citadel which includes the former Imperial Palace. Next, you will visit the Đông Ba market to learn about local produce and specialties of Huế. In the afternoon, you will cruise the Perfume River by a dragon boat to serene Thiên Mụ Pagoda, before driving to the majestic Royal Tomb of King Ming Mang or King Khai Dinh. You will be back at your hotel before sunset for your candle-lit dinner set in a garden house – a traditional feature of Huế 's culture.

Day 8

Huế - Hội An

Start the day by driving to the picturesque riverside town of Hội An as you take in the views of the coastline and Đà Nẵng from the top of the Hải Vân Pass (known as the Pass of the Clouds), so make sure your camera is ready. Upon arrival in Đà Nẵng, you will visit either the Cham Museum or Marble Mountain, which stands for the five essential elements that establish nature. In the afternoon, you will go on walking tour of Hội An with stops at the 400-year old Japanese Covered Bridge, the Phuc Kien Assembly Halls, the Tan Ky Ancient House and the colorful local market. Throughout the tour, you will walk along tiny streets with houses influenced by Chinese, Japanese, French and European architecture. You will have the rest of the day to explore the city on your own; go to any of the city’s cozy bars or restaurants, or even visit a tailor or cobbler and custom-make clothes and shoes within a day!

Day 9

Hội An

In the morning, you will go for a drive to the ancient Cham ruins of Mỹ Sơn; take in the incredible scenery and tiny villages specialized in brass work, with little shops flanking the roadside selling big brass gongs. Upon arrival, you will go on a guided visit to the Trà Kiệu capital which was the former administration center of the Champa Kingdom. Discover the majestic ancient ruins at Mỹ Sơn including the ancient towers which took 10 centuries to build! You will walk around to see the ancient temple and tower ruins set amongst hills and streams followed by a 45-min traditional dance before returning to Hội An for lunch. The remainder of the day will be your own.

Day 10

Hội An

At 09:15, you will have a welcome drink at Hai Café, followed by a stop at the colorful market with its amazing sights, sounds and aromas as you learn about the ingredients you will use in the cooking lesson later. You will then go on a 25-min cruise along the Hội An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School where you will explore the cooking school’s herb garden, before learning about Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson will run for about 2 hours – first, the Red Bridge chefs will demonstrate each dish before you prepare it yourself. You will also get a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration), before you sample what you have cooked. After the cooking lesson, you will have access to the 20 meter pool, showers and towels so make sure you bring your swimsuit! The rest of the day will be at leisure.

Day 11

Hội An

Today you will have the day at leisure in Hội An so you can relax or choose from various optional activities such as a visit to surrounding rural villages on bicycles, or a half-day street food adventure.

Day 12

Hội An - Hồ Chí Minh City

After breakfast, you will have free time before your transfer to Đà Nẵng Airport for a domestic flight to Hồ Chí Minh City. Upon arrival, you will go to the Củ Chi Tunnels where you will visit the amazing network of underground tunnels used during the Vietnam War by the Viet Cong and the local villagers. With 3 levels of depth, it was never discovered by the US during the Vietnam War despite its proximity to Saigon. In the late afternoon, you will return to Hồ Chí Minh City.

Day 13

Hồ Chí Minh City

This morning you will go on a city tour of the Reunification Palace (which was the former Presidential Palace), the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Post office for great photo opportunities. You will then head to Chinatown for a walking tour through the back streets near Chợ Lớn, where you will have lunch before returning to your hotel for some relaxing time at leisure.

At 18:00, you will embark on a part night, part local street food excursion to experience Saigon’s local nightlife from the back of a vintage Vespa scooter. You will stop for drinks at Zoom café and sample Saigon’s food and drinks at local restaurants, including sea food, Southern food, authentic street food, and a stop at a Vietnamese-style coffee shop (with live music) on a pillion ride.

Day 14

Hồ Chí Minh City 

Today, you will have free time before your transfer to the Tân Sơn Nhất Airport for your departure flight.
