Beirut City Tour - Deir El Qamar - Beiteddine
Full day tour Going out for the visit of the Lebanese capital Beirut, to take a stroll through the renovated Central District SOLIDERE where you can contemplate the archaeological Phoenician sites, Roman baths, churches and mosques of historical value, the Martyrs' Square, the famous Rocks of Rawché and the National Museum. Heading to the Chouf region 45km east-west of Beirut. Visiting the old typical village of Deir El-Qamar, residence of Lebanese governors from XVI to XVIII century. Then proceed to visit the palace of Beiteddine (known as the Alhambra of Lebanon). It is considered as the best example of the Lebanese architecture in the XIX century. From both outside and inside is gorgeous as if came out of a tale from the Thousand and One Nights.
Byblos – Harissa – Grutas de Jeita:
Full day tour The day starts by a visit Byblos at 37km north of Beirut. This Phoenician City-State was the most famous in the history due to its important excavations that revealed its reality. You can enjoy the Phoenician archaeological site dating back to the third millennium, temples, amphitheater and tombs of its kings.
Then continue to Jounieh to take the cable car and climb up to visit the statue of Our Lady of Lebanon in Harissa. Up there, you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of bay of Jounieh. Then proceed to visit Grottoes of Jeita, a natural wonder formed by erosion of millions of years, a splendid spectacle that defies any description.
Baalbeck – Ksara – Anjar
Full day tour Departure to the Bekaa Valley . A short break in Chtoura. Then continue the to Ksara for Lebanese wine tasting in Château Ksara. Proceed towards the city of sun, Baalbeck, Lebanon's ancient Heliopolis. Visit the majestic and imposing temples of Jupiter, Bacchus and Venus. Considered one of the wonders of antiquity was recently declared as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
In the afternoon, pass through Anjar to visit its archaeological city, dating back to the Umayyad period (VIII century).
Sidón – Echmoun – Tiro
Departure towards the South of Lebanon. At 45 km south of Beirut we reach Sidon, another famous Phoenician city, where we can visit its Sea Castle dating back to the Crusaders in the early XII c., the old traditional markets, the caravanserais, the Museum of Arabic soap, Hammams. The a visit the Maghdouche Shrine, Lady of Mnaytra where the virgin used to wait for her son in a cave there.
In the afternoon, about 40 km further south we head to visit the amazing Phoenician city of Tyre, Queen of the Seas, which enjoyed its heyday during the first millennium B.C. when spread its colonies across the Mediterranean and the Atlantic.
