Brief

On this trip, you will enjoy 8 days in Europe. The trip will take you to both Spain and Portugal where you will get to visit the cities of Madrid, Granada, Seville and Lisbon. You will be taken back in time and live the grand history of this part of Europe.

Day 1

Madrid

Welcome to Madrid! Upon arrival at the airport, you will go to your hotel. Your guide will be ready to welcome you and will provide the necessary information. After some rest, you will go to the Egyptian Debod temple, Plaza de España and Gran Via; a vibrant district where you can dine at your preferred restaurant: Indian, Chinese, Spanish and Middle Eastern are some of the options.

Day 2

Madrid

This morning, discover the city of Madrid on a guided tour showcasing the city’s vibrant centre, the beautiful Plaza May or "Main Square", magnificent avenues and fountains. Visit the Plaza de Toros de las Ventas, a fine-looking building where you will learn about the tradition of “corridas” in the Bull fighting museum. Furthermore, enjoy a walking tour of the beautiful Retiro Park, home to a beautiful lake and Crystal Palace. At sunset, visit the Plaza de Oriente in the historic centre of Madrid, opposite the Royal Palace.

Day 3

Madrid - Granada

Leaving Madrid by bus in the early morning, travel to the south across La Mancha, stopping in Puerto Lapice, a ‘manchego’ village evoking the figure of Don Quixote where you will enter Andalusia via Despeñaperros. In Granada, you will visit the infamous Alhambra Palace, with entrance and local guide included, discover its beautiful gardens, built in Arab times. Later, enjoy an evening transfer to Granada’s city centre, where restaurants mix with local cultural flavour to create an unforgettable night. You will have the option to attend a flamenco dance show and discover the traditional neighbourhood of Sacramonte. Note: in the Alhambra complex, the Nazari palaces allow a limited number of people in at a time. Should you not be able to visit this area of the Alhambra, a visit to the Alcázares will be included in Seville.

Day 4

Granada - Seville

Today you will leave Granada and travel towards the Costa del Sol. In Malaga, you will have time for a stroll in the historic centre with its cathedral and the Picasso Museum. After this, continue along the coastal motorway with beautiful views of the Mediterranean. You will have time for lunch in Puerto Banus in Marbella. In the afternoon, continue through the hills and their stories of bandoliers before making a stop in Ronda, a beautiful town with a large gorge that divides it in two. From there, you will continue to Sevilla, your destination for the night.

Day 5

Seville

After breakfast, a local expert guides you through a scenic visit of Seville featuring the Cathedral and its famous Giralda, the banks of the Guadalquivir River, the popular neighbourhoods of Santa Cruz and Triana and the beautiful Plaza de España. After some free time in the afternoon, you will visit the historic city centre of Calle Alfonso XII where many different restaurants can be found.

Day 6

Seville -  Lisbon

Today, your itinerary takes you to Lisbon. As you leave Seville and in the province of Huelva, you will stop in Palos de la Fontera where you will visit the Carabelas Museum where Columbus set sail on 3 August 1492 for America. You will see the Rabida Monastery, declared a World Heritage site, a Franciscan monastery strongly linked to the history of the discovery. Arriving in Portugal, you will make a stop at the ancient Muslim city of Mertola for a lunch break. It's present church was once a mosque. Afterwards, you will continue to Evora, a city declared a UNESCO world heritage site, where you will visit the impressive Chapel of Bones, built with 5000 skeletons!  You will finally continue to Lisbon, afterwards.

Day 7

Lisbon

In the morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour with a local guide. During the tour, you will visit traditional neighbourhoods including the Belem district, home to the 16C Tower of Belém and the Navy Museum. You will get to see the Discoveries Monument, the tower, and to the beautiful Jeronimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Belem, “Belem cake”, an exquisite local delicacy is a must-try. After a break to enjoy the city as you please, you will go to the Restauradores Square, an area with numerous restaurants and cafes, we suggest you take the Elevador Da Gloria to the viewpoint of San Pedro with beautiful views over Lisbon and the Bairro Alto (meaning “upper district”).
