Explore the harbor city of Kaohsiung where you will learn about Buddhism and observe the historical architecture of its temples. Admire the natural beauty of Kenting National Park and stroll through several historical sites in the ancient capital city of Tainan.
Taipei - Kaohsiung
Your first stop will be at the most famous sacred place of Southern Taiwan, the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery. Located in Dashu Township in Kaohsiung County on the left bank of the Gaoping (Kaoping) river, you will explore Buddhism and learn about it from the monks and nuns inside the Buddha Memorial Center. The architecture of the temples is very characteristic, and at the southeastern side of Fo Gunag Mountain (Gunag Shan) Monastery, you will admire the scene of the most prominent landmark of the region: a huge golden statue of Buddha Amitaabha. Then, you will head towards your second stop, the Pier-2 Art Center where tourist and locals can come together to enjoy fine art within the area that is rich in new vitality and liveliness due to the collision of an old area and new fine art. Afterwards, you will enjoy a ferry ride to Qijin Island (Qihou) which has numerous visitor attractions. On the island, located the Qijin Tianhou Temple on Miaoqian Road and rickshaws with drivers decked out in Tang dynasty attire with whom you will get your own Qijin cycle rickshaw ride experience. In addition, you will find restaurants selling fresh seafood alfresco style. Your last stop will be at the Liuhe Tourist Night Market and no matter what you like to have, a variety of delicious food, specialties, cold drinks, ices and seafood here are offered for your choice. Remember, don't miss the opportunity to taste the papaya milk and steamed salty shrimps in Kaohsiung.
Overnight in Kaohsiung
After breakfast, you will visit Eluanbi Park to witness its beautiful landscape with mountains in the north and south with coral tablelands. Located within the park is Eluanbi Lighthouse which is reputedly the brightest lighthouse in Asia and one of the most recognized attractions with its splendid panorama that will leave you mesmerized. Then you will move to Maobitou and Longpan Park where exists a number of stunning scenic recreational areas that feature interesting rocky formations, rugged terrain and the beautiful skirt-like coral reef terraces that are stunning to look at. After passing through Hengchun Town, you will reach Kenting Park, Taiwan’s first National Park. Some of Taiwan’s largest coral reefs lie off the coast and the forests along the park’s western edge are the last of Taiwan’s coastal tropical forests. The fantastic climate, lush forests, beaches, and reef environments make Kenting a rival to internationally famous tropical resorts like Bali and Phuket. Finally, you will head back to Kaohsiung.

Kaohsiung - Taipei
You will spend an exciting tour in Tainan City where you will first explore Tainan Chikanlou, an administration center built by the Dutch in 1652. The site contains a library of ancient dictionaries and business transactions documents from the inside as well as an artistic architectural significance from the outside. Your following stop will be at the Guoxingye's Shrine (Yanping Junwang Temple). Surrounded by trees, is the only Fujianese style shrine in Taiwan which is built in memory of the work and achievement of Cheng Cheng Kung, the pioneer of Taiwan. Then you will head towards the Anping Fort which was the administrative center of the Dutch regime, and the hub for trading. Close to the Anping Fort, you will pass by the Anping Tree House which was the original warehouse for British trading company Tait & Co. The aerial roots and branches of trees wrapped around the building, combine with soil, red brick and partial concrete wall creates an unusual sight. Finally, the tour will end with a high speed rail trip to Taipei.
