Enjoy this nine day tour around Turkey. Starting in Istanbul and spending just enough time to get to know the capital, you will then move towards Cappadocia. From there, enjoy the mystical Konya, home to Mevlana Rumi, before exploring the cotton castles of Pamukkale. Your tour will end in Izmir before returning to Istanbul.

Day 1


Upon arrival and reception, you will be checking in to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to spend as you please. 

Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 2


Enjoy a sightseeing tour of the city including a visit to the Golden Horn, the fishing district, and Taksim. You will skirt round the Topkapi Palace and admire the exterior of Hagia Sophia. On your tour, you will take a cable car ride up to the Pierre Loti viewpoint and get to see the Mosque of Suleyman the Magnificent (the largest in Istanbul). In the evening, enjoy a trip to the Taksim neighbourhood, the most lively area of the city. There will be time to dine in one of its many restaurants, and you can also take the old tram to the nearby Galata Tower.

Day 3


Enjoy a tour along the Bosphorus which connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara, separating Istanbul into two parts: the European part and the Asian one. You will get the chance to admire the palaces of the sultans, the typical wooden houses and the Ottoman villas from the water. You can enjoy an optional tour to the Topkapi Palace and enjoy lunch there.

Day 4

Istanbul - Cappadocia

Today, travel by train through the Anatolian landscapes arriving in Ankara. After time to have lunch, take a bus to the Mausoleum of Ataturk. After that, continue en route to Cappadocia making a stop at the Salt lake. We will pass through the before finally arriving in Avanos.

Day 5


Enjoy a full day in the fantastic region of Cappadocia, home to wonderful landscapes, churches and troglodyte villages. Discover the Goreme Valley, an open air museum with churches carved into the rocks. You will visit the natural fortress of Uchisar and Kaimacli, an underground city that once housed 30,000 people. After that, continue to Gumusler, an underground monastery from 7C with perhaps the best Byzantine frescoes in Turkey. You will make a stop in Nigde before returning to Avanos.

Day 6

Cappadocia - Konya

In the morning, you will visit the Pasabag valley as well as the Ihlara valley. The Ihlara valley is known for its fresh waters, villages and churches carved in rock.  On the way to Konya, you will make a stop in an old 13C Caravanserai. Once in Konya, pay a visit to the Mausoleum of Mevlana Rumi and learn about the Sufi Order of the Dervishes. At night, we suggest that you attend the dance performance of the whirling dervishes in the cultural centre.

Day 7

Konya - Pamukkale

Enjoy the scenic road among lakes, and get to know Egridir, a beautiful town nearby a large lake where you will have free time for lunch. From there, continue to Pamukkale, where calcareous waters have created the Cotton Castle.

Day 8

Pamukkale - Izmir

Today, you will get to visit Ephesus, the best preserved ancient city of Asia Minor; 2000 years ago it had a quarter of a million inhabitants. Visit the house of the Virgin Mary, the Basilica of Saint John and the impressive ruins at Ephesus Your trip will then continue to Izmir, the third most important city in Turkey and a modern and pleasant coastal city.

Day 9

Izmir - Istanbul

Today, you will enjoy a guided tour of the city which will include the church of Saint Policarp, the oldest church in Izmir, and a great reminder of the importance of the region in Christianity. Discover the Fort of Kadifecale before beginning the trip back to Istanbul. After a luch stop, you will arrive in Bursa, one of Turkey's important city and home to a center that was declared a UNESCO world heritage site. Get to enjoy its traditional shopping districts, mosques, religious schools, public baths and its outstanding Green Mosque before continuing to Istanbul.
