Explore the amazing scenery, warm culture and rich history of Italy on this 11-day trip along the shores of the Mediterranean. Your Italian tour will start off in the gorgeous city of Venice, making your way to Florence, Assisi, the capital of Rome, the ancient city of Pompeii and finally, beautiful Capri. Day 1

Venice

Arriving at Venice’s airport, you will be met by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be at leisure until you gather for a Welcome Dinner with your tour guide and fellow travelers.

Day 2

Venice

Your sightseeing tour of Venice will start with a walking tour in St. Mark’s Square, visiting St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace. Then you will view the Bell Tower and Bridge of Sighs. On to visit a glassblowing factory, you will get to watch a demonstration of traditional Venetian glassblowing by master craftsmen, a tradition that’s been passed down for generations. The rest of the day will be at leisure to enjoy the gorgeous city of Venice at your own pace, shop, or perhaps take an optional gondola ride.

Day 3

Venice – Florence

Start your morning with a drive to Ferrara, a Renaissance gem standing on the banks of the Po River in the Emilia-Romagna region. After a guided orientation tour, you will continue to Pisa to see the stunning Piazza del Miracoli with its famous Leaning Tower, Baptistery, and Duomo. Then, you will make your way to the beautiful city of Florence for a tasty dinner and a free evening.

Day 4

Florence

A morning city tour will begin at the majestic Piazza del Duomo to see the Cathedral crowned by Brunelleschi’s splendid Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, and the Baptistery with Ghiberti’s intricate bronze “Gates of Paradise.” Next, you will visit the Academy of Fine Arts to see Michelangelo’s famous sculpture called David, ending the tour at the Piazzale Michelangelo with a breathtaking view over Florence. The remainder of the day will be yours to savor the Renaissance splendor of the Tuscan capital your own way and at your own pace.

Day 5

Florence – Rome

Today you will travel through the rolling landscapes of Tuscany on your way to Assisi, the hometown of St. Francis. Here, you will go on a walking tour to see the main square and visit the impressive Basilica of St. Francis before continuing to Rome for dinner and an evening at leisure in the impressive Italian capital.

Day 6

Rome

This morning, you will go on a full-day sightseeing tour in Rome where your knowledgeable guide will show you all the highlights of this timeless eternal city. First, you will visit the Vatican Museums with the unforgettable Sistine Chapel and magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica. Then, you will cross the Tiber River to visit the Coliseum, the ancient Palatine Hill overlooking Circus Maximus, the Imperial Palace, and the Roman Forum.

Day 7

Rome

On this day you will have free time to explore the stunning, historic city of Rome on your own. Your tour guide will have suggestions on how to spend your time. You might want to browse through some of the stylish shops and galleries, visit a museum, go sightseeing, or relax in a sidewalk café before joining your fellow travelers for a delicious dinner, the perfect way to celebrate your Italian adventure.

Day 8

Rome – Sorrento

Your morning will start by leaving Rome to travel to the ancient city of Pompeii which was destroyed and buried under ashes, forever preserved by an eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. After a visit to the haunting site which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will continue to Sorrento where you will have a tasty dinner at your hotel, followed by an evening at leisure.

Day 9

Sorrento

Today you will glide across the glistening bay to the beautiful Isle of Capri. Here, you’ll visit the magnificent Gardens of Caesar Augustus and view the famed Faraglioni Rocks. Then you will have free time to wander through the winding streets and browse in the elegant boutiques before returning to Sorrento.

Day 10

Sorrento

Take in the sights of Sorrento your way with a full free day. You might want to wander through the shops, indulge in a spa treatment, or simply relax and enjoy the stunning views before your mouth-watering dinner in hotel at night.

Day 11

Sorrento

Time to say goodbye. After an appetizing breakfast and check-out formalities at your hotel, you will be transferred to the airport in Naples for your departure flight. Ciao!
