New York, New YorkPublished on July 13, 2017
You hear about New York, everyone says it’s beautiful, but you never really understand until you’ve seen it for yourself. From the moment I stepped foot in this gorgeous city, I fell in love. All the romantic movies and perfect pictures that you see of New York make you build up expectations, and I was not at all disappointed with what I found. What I loved most about this city were its diversity and the fact that there is always something for everyone, no matter what your interests are. If you're a party animal, you will find that nightlife in New York is spectacular, if you fancy a good book and some alone time, you will see parks and green areas almost everywhere you go. I went to New York with a bunch of my friends to have a trip of self-discovery and spontaneity, and it was a trip that we will never forget.
After a long flight, we felt that the perfect thing to do on our first day is to just relax, and there's no better place to do that than the famous Central Park which is simply stunning. We spent the rest of the day just lying aimlessly in the grass and playing soccer, and it was awesome. We browsed the surrounding area for a good meal and we found a lot of options to choose from.
Also, if you’re a Beatles fan, then make sure to visit Strawberry Fields, John Lennon’s Memorial located inside the Park.
P.S. You should definitely try going for an early-morning jog when you go to Central Park!
And then there is Little Italy! Everything in this wonderful little town is designed to make you feel like you’ve been transported to Italy for a perfect meal. The buildings, the restaurants and the music that you hear in the background will give you a taste of Italian culture. We loved it! And we spent most of the night just strolling around. You should definitely go there at night, the lights and decorations are just amazing.
If you're going to the Statue of Liberty (which you definitely should), you should know there are different tickets each taking you to different levels, and you can even go up to the crown; we preferred to stay on the ground and enjoy the fresh air. Once you’re there, you can go on a guided tour or just walk around and discover the area on your own and of course, take a perfect photo to commemorate your awesome day.
Located at the edge of Brooklyn is the stunning beach of Coney Island. A place truly worth visiting despite its long distance away from the city center. After spending a fun day at the beach, we enjoyed a great burger at the famous "Nathan’s" while watching the sun set over the water. Afterwards, we hit the roller coasters and had a thrilling adrenaline rush before sitting back to watch the spectacular Coney Island fireworks for a perfect end to the day.
Of course, you can’t go to New York and not go to the Brooklyn Bridge. We went right before the sunrise when the view is 100 times more beautiful - just in time to see the transition from the quiet night to the busy early morning of New York. When you're on the Bridge, you will be able to see the Statue of Liberty from afar on one side of the Bridge, and the famous Manhattan Bridge on the other, both standing over the sea; a scene you'll never forget.
